Fourth of July in San Antonio

We had a great time at my mom's in San Antonio for Fourth of July. We went to a small town festival and then watched fireworks. At the festival, Ella found herself some watermelon and Dylan kept busy with a blue slushie.

It was a true all-American celebration. Ella tries at every holiday to make a cake, so this time she decided that America needed a birthday cake. Well, grandma caved and the result was a yummy cake with raspberries and blueberries on top!
Well, that cake sure beat the one the turkey got for Thanksgiving. Thanks Ella for pushing the cake creativity!

The next day was boating in the beautiful Hill Country. Too bad the weather did not stay beautiful. We hit a major wind storm and rain and it cut our day short. Dylan was soooooo entertained by grandpa being soaking wet and kept yelling "Grandpa, you are SOO wet" as he patiently drove the boat. Luckily, Grandpa had his hearing aide out and couldn't hear Dylan rubbing it in. I think Dylan LOVED the boat the most because it was splashing us lots and bouncey in the storm.

HAha, sure Ella "found" some watermelon! More like she walked up to the back of the truck and helped herself! Too funny! Great weekend, glad we all made it down!

Your mom looks so good for her age! Must be all those apples! I love boating though and it looks like you had so much fun!
