Birthday Campout

Ella picked a pretend campout theme for her 5th birthday party. My sister Katie came up with these adorable invites to bring in Sleeping Beauty.I found these cute owl bags (that Ella says are so stylish) and we decorated with owls and yellow and reds. The girls got to get a flashlight in their bags and go on a scavenger hunt.I don't have any pictures of the tent in our backyard, probably because it was raining. But the girls were brave, got their flashlights and went out back. They played silly games and put on glow-in-the-dark bracelets. My mom made these cute cupcakes with fire logs on top. They were a big hit.Best of all, they got to make s'mores with pink marshmallows. It was a fun campout and a very creative idea by Ella!

Birthday Wishes

On Ella's 5th birthday, she saw the most beautiful rainbow. She wanted to see the full rainbow, not just half a rainbow. Ella asked if wishes really do come true, if you wish your hardest with Jesus' help. Deep questions for such a young age! I struggled with words to answer in the moment. She ran out back and prayed hard. She wanted to see the full rainbow with all her heart. Well, Ella here is my best answer as your incompetent-feeling mother: Wishes DO come true. They come true in whatever form God wants to send them back to you. You wish and pray with all your heart. And he sends back a wish bigger and better than even your imagination could see. But, it's not always NOW and it's not always the exact way you dream. My wish for you is that you know always that Heavenly Father NEVER misses a wish. He will always answer you! Love, Mom
