Dylan's Swimming Birthday

Could a boy look any happier? Dylan celebrated his 7th birthday with a swimming party the weekend before his birthday. He loved the slide, lazy river and sprinkler area.

Dylan picked out who to invite -- his old and new Primary teachers and their kids and his favorite neighborhood friends.
We had cupcakes that were decorated like a swimming pool with 3-inch high frosting, but the kids didn't complain! It turned out adorable!

The swimming natatorium had something for everyone... rope swings, sprinklers, tunnels, slides and more. Dylan never wanted to leave and cried all the way to the van!
He was too tired from swimming hard to open any presents after the party. The next morning, Dylan opened lots of Lego gifts and he and his dad spent most of the weekend putting them together.
On the morning of his actual birthday, his dad woke him up with a Cars balloon. Dylan got to open his family gifts. Dylan woke on his birthday morning sooo soo talkative... he was asking us to open the presents, help him, cook him breakfast and we couldn't even keep up with all his talking. (It brought a big smile to his parents!) Then, he was off to school with another set of swimmingly good cupcakes to share. He made sure to request that dad pick up his favorite BLUE Powerade drink after work...
This gift was a big hit from grandma and grandpa... a fun roller for the pool or grass.

After a long birthday, Ella helped tuck him in to unwind in their toy roller!

Happy Birthday Dylan! You brighten up our home with your smile and fun ability to tease us all. We are so proud of how hard you work each day to be a part of our world. And we are so excited to see what the next year brings for you! I have a feeling it will involve more swimming...

Daddy-Daughter Dance

Our city has a daddy-daughter dance for all ages. Ella got to go with her daddy and her best friend Alexa and her dad. The theme was Enchanted Forest. Ella loved getting her hair curly and wearing her special crown. But most of all she loved the chicken dance with her daddy!Practicing their dance moves...

Pretend Sleepover

Ella got to have a pretend sleepover with her friends -- it was adorable. They had a party from 6-8 p.m. in their PJs -- watched a princess movie, painted nails, curled their hair and jumped on the trampoline in the dark (the biggest hit)!

And here's how Dylan avoided the all too girly party:... playing the Wii in another room!
