I like to call these my "aha, the kids actually DO listen to their mother" moments.
Dylan usually prays about things totally off topic. Like he will bless us to have a good day at our evening meal. He'll say anything to get to his food, but not bless the food! Tonight during Family Home Evening, he said "thank you for Jesus!" My whole face lit up and he was so proud of himself. Yay, he's on topic, he gets SOMETHING about FHE!
Ella has been way into cemeteries lately. She thinks they are so beautiful. She asks all kinds of questions about the afterlife. She asks if my grandmas are in the cemetery. And she wants to know if Jesus takes you to a new town when you die. I've told her, well heaven is like a town we can't imagine cause it's so wonderful. She seems to be really curious about this and asking lots of questions. Her reply tonight was, "I hope Jesus takes me to New York City when I die!" What? I had such a good laugh. I love this girl's imagination. I'm glad she wants to go somewhere fun after she dies. But, kinda doubt NYC is much like heaven? Ok, maybe some of the Broadway shows we can take with us?

Trick-or-Treat 2009

Dylan was a knight with blue hair and Ella was the Little Mermaid with pinkish red hair. They both have wanted to color their hair forever, so I tried to pick costumes that the paint would work with. Dylan especially has asked me to dye his hair blue for months. He even added more spray the next morning for church.

Neighborhood Fun

My kids have so many fun memories playing out front. We have a great street with all the kids riding bikes together, having lemonade stands, playing tag and all the fun outdoor games we enjoyed as kids. One afternoon, they spent hours with these boxes.

And they even celebrate National Night Out here with a neighborhood get together.
